Sam Provenzano, 1923-1999, oil on canvas titled "Conquete". A student and protege of Hans Hoffman between 1947 and 1949, Provenzano also studied at the Academy of Fine arts in Florence, Italy. Described as abstract figurative, his paintings have components of recognizable objects combined with abstraction. Sam Provenzanos' works can be found in the collections of SFMOMA as well as the UC Berkeley art collection and other collections worldwide.
